The Southwestern Illinois Chapter of the American Red Cross will close its’ fiscal year with a special event next week in Alton. A speaker series entitled “Is Your Church Ready for an Emergency?” will focus on how and why faith communities should be involved during emergency situations.
Robin Summers, Executive Director of the Southwestern Illinois Chapter of the American Red Cross, says the event will feature a speech by Rev. William Engfehr.

Summers says most churches want to be involved in disaster response and that Rev. Engfehr’s presentation will provide information on how to put a response plan together. The event will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, June 30th at the American Red Cross building on Main Street in Alton. You can RSVP or learn more by calling 465-7704.
