The Madison County Recorder’s Office will be teaming with SIUE on a new project to help teach local history to elementary school students.  SIUE has a program called Teaching with Primary Sources, which was started by the Library of Congress to train teachers how to incorporate primary sources into their teaching curriculum.

Weeks tells The Big Z a primary source is a direct resource from the time period of study.  She says their office has documents such as original plat maps, Civil War documents, and access to genealogy resources through Hayner Public Library.
