The annual fall fundraiser for Make-A-Wish, IL has raised $18,000 for children facing life-threatening medical conditions.  The 3rd annual Ride for Wishes was held last Saturday, and more than 50 motorcycles and a few other vehicles made the nearly 70-mile trek.

The ride began at Ted’s Motorcycle World in Alton and ended at the Alton VFW Post 1308 where it was followed by a silent auction.  Event spokesman Mike Montgomery tells The Big Z it was a good day.

Make-A-Wish Foundation grants wishes in Madison, Macoupin and Jersey counties, made possible by funds raised through a number of events in the region. The ride secured a new title sponsor this year - GCS Credit Union - which Montgomery says made a significant impact in the amount of money raised for the kids.
