There are nearly 300 more students currently enrolled in classes at SIUE, which sets an all time record for the university.  Enrollment is 14,265 students, with nearly 12,000 undergraduates enrolled in classes.  Several factors are being attributed to the continued growth.

A big reason, according to the university’s Doug McIlhagga, is the wide variety of classes.

He tells The Big Z the economy of attending school in Edwardsville is not lost on students and families.  While some private institutions are charging $40,000 - $50,000 a year in tuition and fees, SIUE can offer the same national and international accreditations for about ¼ the cost.
