The Riverbend Growth Association held its annual dinner last night and honored a number of businesses and individuals for their achievements over the past year.  Along with recognizing the twelve Small Business of the Month winners from 2012, the RBGA also issued awards for contributions made to improving the quality of life in the area.

Honored this year with Chairman's Awards were Alton Memorial Hospital, St. Anthony's Health Center and Marquette Catholic High School.  Shelia Goins of Shell Community Federal Credit Union was named the Ambassador of the Year for her involvement in the many RBGA events throughout the past year.  Director of Membership Services Joell Aguirre says rather than name one business, they decided to honor all the Small Business of the Month winners from last year:

The Alton Regional Convention and Visitor's Bureau also handed out Spirit of Tourism Awards last night to Alton Little Theater and a shared award for the City of Alton, Schnuck's Markets, and the 3v3 Kick It Soccer Tournament.  Also last night, Don Reedy was honored with a Chairman's Award for his years of service on the RBGA Board of Directors.  He is retiring in April at CEO of First Mid America Credit Union and is leaving the board.
