Governor Bruce Rauner is outlining his plans in his first State of the State Address, and pledging new beginnings for Illinois. Governor Rauner urged lawmakers to work with him to make the state great once again. His proposals include consolidating local governments, and reforming the organizational structure of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield.

Rauner also wants to help minority owned businesses get off the ground and hire more corrections officers to make prisons safer. He's calling for an increase in early childhood and K - 12 education, and an increase in the minimum wage coupled with business reforms.
