Motorists on I-270 will need to keep an eye out for construction crews beginning today as the Illinois Department of Transportation continues to work on an extensive rehabilitation project between the Mississippi River and Route 3. While it is a relatively short stretch of highway, it carries a large volume of traffic. The next step in the project involves closing the ramp between Illinois Route 3 to Westbound I-270 near Granite City
