High Speed Rail crossing upgrades in the area have begun, with the Humbert Road Crossing near Bowl Haven scheduled to be shut down through early next week. The four crossings in Godfrey- at Alby Street, Tolle Lane, Pearl Street and Bethany Lane- are also scheduled to be closed later this week, but not all will be closed at the same time. Still, some motorists voiced concerns over the coming limited access across town, and flooded the Godfrey Village Hall with angry phone calls.

Union Pacific Railroad spokesman Mark Davis says the closure schedule will be updated regularly so motorists know which crosings to avoid.

Davis comments

Work on each crossing could last as little as a few days, or as long as a few weeks. You can find a link to the updated work schedule here:  www.idothsr.org/2010_const/closures.aspx
