Gov. Pat Quinn continues to push for a tax relief for businesses as well as average Joes.  Quinn says he’s on board with a plan to help keep businesses in Illinois, but continues to maintain his position that any relief for business must be accompanied by relief for workers. One proposal would include $570 million in tax breaks for businesses and people.  Quinn says he supports a research and development tax credit as well as an expansion of the Earned Income Tax Credit.

“I heard from our legislative leaders that they definitely want to have, in any relief package, support for individuals who work hard,” Quinn said.  Quinn says he has been talking with Chicago Mercantile Exchange as well as Sears. Both are looking for tax relief and have looked at what other states have to offer.
