If you are looking for a "staycation" this weekend, the 7th annual Calhoun County Quilt and Church Tour is being held Friday and Saturday from 9am to 4pm.   Over 200 quilts, old to new, more hand stitched than machine stitched, are displayed in historic churches across Calhoun County.

Event organizer Robbie Strauch says the quilts you see on the sides of the barns aren't really quilts.

Strauch comments

Strauch says there are quilts on display at St. Matthew Lutheran Church and Hall in Brussels, Zion Lutheran Church in Batchtown, the Presbyterian Church and Hall in Hardin and the Presbyterian Church in Kampsville.  Strauch says while you can see the quilts any time, a $12 tickets allows you to explore the churches at each stop, including 25 to 30 quilts in each building.  For more information on either event, call 465-6676.
