Alton Police report a quiet night following the St. Louis County Grand Jury announcement in the Ferguson Police shooting case.  Despite many rumors on social media of problems overnight, local police departments say there were no incidents reported. Alton Police have been keeping an eye on the situation in St. Louis County since the August shooting incident, and have attempted to have an open dialogue with community groups on a variety of topics.  

Speaking after the Monday night Alton City Council Committee of the Whole meeting, Alton Police Chief Jason Simmons says they don’t anticipant problems but are prepared just in case:

Police in Wood River and East Alton also reported a quiet overnight period with no arrests related to the Ferguson case.
