St. Louis Police say they will be prepared for another day of protests beginning with today's planned "Day of Civil Disobedience." Police Chief Sam Dotson says the slate is clean for today's demonstrations. He promises not to penalize demonstrators for actions taken by protestors who were arrested on Sunday.
Dotson says 17 people were taken into custody Saturday night and early Sunday at a 24-hour QuikTrip in south St. Louis and charged with unlawful assembly. He says they refused to leave the business after they were asked to leave several times. Today's protests are supposed to bring awareness to acts of alleged police brutality in the St. Louis area. Several thousand people rallied in downtown St. Louis on Saturday to speak out on recent police shootings involving young black males.
