The Village of Bethalto is moving forward with a plan to create a bike trail to compliment its park system.  The village recently received a $100,000 grant from Phillips 66 Wood River Refinery, and Bethalto Mayor Alan Winslow says the citizens have made it known through the parks plan that getting bike trails in the village was a priority:

Winslow says if the trails cannot be completed with grant funds, then it won’t happen due to the tight finances in the village.  He says the sewer system is a priority, and it will cost a lot to fix those issues.
