Madison County Treasurer Kurt Prenzler's office is now taking payments for the newest round of tax bills that were mailed out recently. Of the better than 130,000 tax bills that were mailed out, many will take advantage of the ability to pay online, which is a new payment method this year. Others will pay in person, mail a check, or pay at any of a number of financial institutions.
But Prenzler says if you dispute what you owe, it's actually the Assessor's Office you should contact.
The Assessor's Office can be reached at 692-6270. This year the due dates for the four-payment plan are July 5, September 5, October 5 and December 5. For more information on any of the payment options, call Treasurer's Office Help Desk at 692-6260, or by clicking on the treasurer's website.
