There's more progress to report on the move of a Chevrolet dealership in Wood River.  Two months ago, the city's Public Services Department finished work on a new sewer extension that will keep the city's Chevrolet dealership in town.  Jack Schmitt Chevrolet moved into the former Albrecht-Hamlin building on Highway 111 several years ago, but is now planning to locate near two other dealerships just off Highway 255.

Wood River City Manager Jim Schneider says progress is being made.

Schneider comments

The new building will be constructed next to the Shop - N - Save on Route 143, and cost somewhere between $5-million and $6-million.  Schneider says if all goes well, the move will be completed by summer.  In other city council business, a new policeman was sworn in Monday night.  Probationary Patrolman Brenton Rombach is the newest member of the Wood River Police Department.
