The plans to bring a multi-use sports complex to Alton High School continue to take shape. The project includes upgrading the current soccer practice field to a game field with a surrounding 8-lane track, the construction of a varsity baseball facility, two multi-purpose fields, a cross-country course, and a new restroom and concession facility.
Dave McClintock, Director of Buildings and Grounds for the Alton School District, says they hope to have the fields ready in time for the 2015-2016 school year.

McClintock says recent work has included the clearing of trees, moving 100,000 cubic yards of dirt, the pouring of various foundations, and the preliminary work on laying out the track that will circle the soccer field.
