Local beautification group Pride Incorporated is taking the lead on the project to bring a statue of famed musician Miles Davis to downtown Alton.  Davis was born in Alton, but grew up in East St. Louis.  Local musicians started a jazz festival in his name several years ago, and there is now a push for a statue to honor Davis and place it in the downtown entertainment district.
