Thanksgiving is less than three weeks away, and the Christmas season will soon be in full swing.  The evening of Black Friday traditionally marks the opening of the Christmas Wonderland display at Rock Spring Park.  The light display at the park has been going strong for more than two decades, and there are more new LED lights that are brighter and more "green" as the move toward the lights was started in recent years.

The "Grandpa Gang" is hanging millions of lights for this year’s display, and Grandpa Gang leader Bob Osburn says they will keep hanging more until opening night.

The cost to see the display is $7 for cars and small vans, and $1 per person for vehicles with 10 or more passengers.  The Christmas Wonderland display hours are 6-9 p.m. on weekdays, and 5-9 p.m. on the weekends.  Opening day is Friday November 28.  The annual Walk-Thru night is Monday December 1 where only pedestrians are allowed and admission is $1 per person.  For more information go to
