Union Members, families and friends will gather tomorrow in Upper Alton for the annual pre-labor day parade hosted by the The Greater Madison County Federation of Labor. The parade steps off from the Alton Middle School pit area and runs along Washington Avenue, Edwards, Main Street, and Ameila before returning to the school.
Mike Fultz, the Vice President of the Madison County Federation of Labor, says the parade - as has been the case for a number of years - will be followed by the annual Union picnic and softball tournament for Union members, families and friends at Gordon Moore Park.
Saturday's parade starts at 10 a.m. sharp, with former chief circuit judge and current Democratic congressional candidate Ann Callis serving as this year's Grand Marshal. The 33rd Annual Tri-Cities Labor Day Parade and Picnic will take place on September 2 in Granite City.
