Ameren Illinois crews worked non-stop into the weekend after severe storms blew through the area last Wednesday. At it's peak the outage effected over 100-thousand customers, mostly south of the Riverbend in Belleville, Centralia, East St. Louis, Maryville, and Sparta.  Ameren finally wrapped up restoration work on Sunday.

As of Saturday morning less than 900 people were still without power and crews finished their work yesterday. Ameren engaged almost 900 contract workers to help with restoring power. Personnel came from states as far away as Texas and Mississippi.
