An Alton tire shop may have played a role in a string of tire and wheel thefts from North St. Louis County.  Investigators believe 18-year-old Hykeem King-Tanter  and 40-year-old Melford Newlon would sell the wheels and tires that had been stolen at the unidentified Alton location.

A spokesman for the St. Louis County Police Department said they could not comment on what role if any the shop played in the crimes, as the investigation is ongoing, nor would they confirm the name of the shop.  At least a dozen St. Louis County residents had their tires or rims stolen.  The total value of the thefts so far is said to be at around $30,000.
