Police officers from several departments took part in live training at a school in Wood River on Tuesday. The scene looked all too familiar considering recent events in Orlando and Dallas with emergency vehicles and realistic scenarios of an active shooter firing at police.
Fifteen officers from Wood River, East Alton, Hartford, Roxana, South Roxana, Bethalto and the Madison County Sheriff’s Department took part in the training lead by Wood River Police. Emergency responders from those communities were also involved in the event at Lewis and Clark Elementary School. A second day of training will take place tomorrow.
