Drivers in the Alton area can expect to see an increase in police presence this Halloween as Alton Police have announced plans for more patrols as part of the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over " Impaired Drivers Crackdown. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Halloween is statistically a dangerous night for drunk driving. In 2012, 48% of all fatal crashes that night involved a drunk driver.
Alton Police Public Information Officer Emily Hejna offers a few tips to help keep you safe on the roads.
