Investigators say a man who has known he is HIV positive for 15 years has knowingly engaged in intimate contact with at least two people, but are puzzled as to why more have not come forward.

41-year-old Timothy A. Beamon (pictured) of the 100 block of Sinclair in South Roxana is being held at the Madison County Jail on two counts of Criminal Transmission of HIV.   Lieutenant Bob Coles, with the South Roxana Police Department, says Beamon would trade sex for drugs.

Coles comments

Beamon was diagnosed as HIV positive in 1996, according to information forwarded from the State's Attorney's office. Coles says that corresponded with a stint in prison on a cocaine charge. If anyone believes they are a victim of Beamon's they are urged to contact their local police department.
