Checking local police reports provided this morning to Z-1570, The Madison County State's Attorney's Office reports charges were filed against a pair of individuals on Tuesday. 20-year old Dejuan J. Bean of the 1410 block of Fletcher Street in Alton has been charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm after he allegedly fired multiple shots near East 6th and Spring in Alton on July 7th of this year. Charges were also filed against 53-year old Gregory W. Neumann of the 200 block of Central Woodhenge Drive in Collinsville. Authorities allege that Nuemann stole more than $25,000 from Alton Off-Track Betting parlor at Mac's Time Out in Alton between August 2012 and July 2013. He was charged with one count of theft over $500 and is not in custody at this time.
The Macoupin County Sheriff's Office reports that four men suffered serious injuries in a rollover crash over the weekend. According to information provided by police, a 2003 Mitsubishi Convertible owned by 29-year old Michael C. Helvey of Gillespie left the roadway and overturned several times while traveling southwest on Three MIle Road, 1.5 miles west of Gillespie. Harvey and the other tree occupants, 40-year old William Gill of Benld, 25-year old Matthew Rauzi of and 24-year old Ryan Melchert, both of Gillespie were ejected from the vehicle and transported to local hospitals with serious injuries. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
