Checking local police reports provided this morning to Z-1570, the Madison County Sheriff's Department arrested two people for alleged retail theft over $300 from the Godfrey Wal-Mart. 26 year old Matthew McDonough of the 600 block of Beacon Street in Alton and 28 year old Wayne Sprinkle of the 100 block of Manor Court in Alton, were arrested following incidents last Friday and Sunday. Sprinkle was also charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance. 51 year old Ecker Mathews of the 5400 block of Maryville Road in Granite City, arrested for aggravated battery. 41 year old Ann Wright and 40 year old Sean Demaggio both of the 2300 block of Arnold in Granite City held for possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop. Police say they possessed cocaine. 22 year old Taylor Tholin of the 400 block of Hickory in Bunker Hill, was charged with bringing contraband into a penal institution. He was allegedly in possession of a hypodermic syringe and several capsules containing suspected cocaine when he was being booked into the Madison County Jail on Sunday.
Wood River Police were holding 21 year old Richard Nesallo of the 100 block of 12th Street in Wood River for domestic battery and unlawful restraint.
There was no one else new reported held during the other local checks from earlier today.
