Checking local police reports provided this morning to Z-1570, the Missouri Highway Patrol reports a serious accident on Highway 67 in West Alton that injured a Godfrey man.  22 year old Joseph Schwank was injured when his vehicle struck the rear end of a freightliner while traveling in the northbound lanes of the highway.  The crash occurred just before 10:30am Tuesday on Highway 67 just north of Route 94.  Schwank was airlifted from the scene in serious condition.  The driver of the truck was not injured.   Highway Patrol indicates Schwank was driving too fast for conditions.

The Madison County Sheriff's Department arrested two people for manufacturing methamphetamine:  35 year old Deliah Shepard and 37 year old James Hollins both of the 2100 block of Robert Drive in Granite City.

Illinois State Police report a single vehicle accident on Scenic Drive inside Pere Marquette State Park early Tuesday morning.  24 year old Joshua Dixon of Trenton, Illinois, was cited for DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident after police say he ran off the roadway and struck  a tree then left the scene without reporting the accident.

Wood River Police were holding 45 year old Daniel Stevenson of Wood River on two outstanding failure to appear warrants.

There was no one else new reported held during the other local jail checks earlier this morning.
