Checking local police reports provided this morning to Z-1570, the Madison County Sheriff's Department reports a pedestrian was struck by a passing motorist in the 3800 block of West Delmar in Godfrey Monday evening. Authorities report the driver was unable to stop or avoid the person who was apparently crossing the dark stretch of road. The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. No charges are being sought against the driver.

County authorities also charged 26 year old Brandon McBride of the 300 block of Aladdin in Alton with resisting a peace officer. McBride was reportedly being transfered from one section of the Madison County Jail to another when he allegedly refused to cooperate with jailers. During the course of the transfer, a deputy suffered a minor injury to his hand, and the charge was upgraded to a felony. McBride is already being held for unlawful failure to register as a sex offender, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, and drug charges.

There was no one else new reported held during the other local jail checks earlier today.
