In local police reports, Alton Police arrested a Missouri woman after she allegedly left her infant in the car while she gambled inside the Argosy Casino.  28-year-old Timeka Coleman-Jones of St. Ann was cited with misdemeanor child abandonment and the child was placed in protective custody.  The incident took place early Sunday evening when another patron heard the baby crying from the back seat of a car and notified casino security.

Two Granite City residents have been charged with animal cruelty for allegedly failing to properly care for their dog.  33-year-old Harold Denniger and 36 year old Monica Swafford, both of the 2700 block of Iowa, were cited after a neighbor brought the malnourished dog to the Collinsville emergency animal clinic on October 24.  Police went to the home the next day and the couple signed the dog over to Granite City Animal Control.
