Checking local police reports provided this morning to Z-1570, Alton Police arrested 22 year old Jason Whitney of the 3000 block of Edwards in Alton for criminal damage to government supported property.  Alton Police were also involved in the pursuit of a suspect who reportedly fled from the scene of a home burglary Monday morning.  The suspect was apparently interrupted in the middle of the alleged crime in the 900 block of Riley Avenue, but was also connected to a second suspected burglary in the 2300 block of Powhatten.  He led police from Alton from near the Clark Bridge to near I-270 at the Chain of Rocks Canal Bridge where he abandoned his car and fled on foot.  He was eventually taken into custody while attempting to hide in a storm drain.  The man, who is from St. Louis, could be formally charged, and identified, today.

Wood River Police were holding 49 year old Steven Tinnon of Wood River for domestic battery.  37 year old Chad Knight of Godfrey, held for DIU-alcohol.  37 year old David Conboy of Wood River on an outstanding warrant and possession of a controlled substance.

The Madison County Sheriff's Department arrested 19 year old Jacob Stamper of the 300 block of Rohm in Roxana, held for DUI and unlawful possession of cannabis.
