Checking local police reports provided this morning to Z-1570, Alton Police filed charges in a drug and burglary case from earlier this year.   31 year old Matthew Terpening of the 2200 block of Valleyview in Alton was charged Monday with burglary and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Alton Police were also investigating several recent burglaries.  One was reported this month at a home in the 2500 block of Banks Drive, in the Hopp Hollow subdivision, in which a number of rings were stolen.   Another was reported in the 400 block of Vine Street where a television and gaming system were stolen.

The Madison County Sheriff's Department responded with a number of officers on Monday to Triad High School after five bullets were found in a school stairwell.  A school resource officer notified the Sheriff's Department and a dozen officers responded to lock down the building and make sure there was no threat.  A complete search of the building took place and one other bullet was found on campus.  The lock-down lasted from 9:00 to 10:40am.

Otherwise, there was no one new reported held during the other local checks earlier today.
