In local police reports, the Madison County Sheriff’s Department arrested two people in connection with an alleged armed robbery in rural Granite City early Monday. A truck driver parked in the 3200 block of West Chain of Rocks Road was asleep when someone knocked on his cab door. He opened it and a man and woman entered the cab and demanded money. The driver initially refused and the couple threatened the man with a knife and then attacked him. The driver eventually gave the couple some money and they fled the scene in a vehicle that was pulled over by police in Madison two hours later. Charged are 44 year old Darline Coleman and 49 year old Leroy Pryor both of the 1400 block of 5th Street in Madison. Coleman is charged with armed robbery and Pryor was charged with aggravated robbery. Both are being held in the Madison County Jail. The victim suffered minor cuts and abrasions during the attack, but was not seriously injured.
