In local police reports, Illinois State Police in Litchfield report the arrest of two St. Louis women in connection with a retail theft ring. 51-year-old Shawn Thomas and 34-year-old LaTonya Jackson were arrested Monday after a routine traffic stop on I-55. Police say both women were wanted on outstanding warrants, and the car they were driving was wanted in connection with recent thefts at a department store in Marion.
Troopers reportedly found 65-hundred dollars in stolen goods in the car on Monday as the women were reportedly on their way from Springfield to St. Louis. The two women are accused of running a bi-state theft operation for the last year-and-a-half and one store in Marion, Illinois, reports losses attributed to the pair at around $63-thousand.
