In local police reports, Alton Police were investigating the reports of vehicle burglaries from the weekend at four different locations in the city.  In most of the cases, police say the vehicles were left unlocked.   The burglaries were reported between late Saturday and into early Monday across the city in the first block of East 13th Street, the 1000 block of East 6th, the 400 block of Augusta and the 1200 block of West 9th Street.  Items stolen range from money, debit and credit cards, an iPod, and hair styling supplies.  Police did view surveillance video from outside the Humbolt Apartments on East 6th from late Saturday that showed a white man and woman in their late 20s or early 30s lifting car door handles.  Police remind vehicle owners to lock their cars and store valuables out of sight, or take them with you.

Elsewhere, there was no one new reported held during the other early morning jail checks.
