Checking local police reports provided this morning to Z-1570, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office reports that felony charges have been filed against a Cottage Hills woman following an incident over the weekend. 23-year old Kesley D. Proffer of the 1330 block of 9th Street has been charged with aggravated battery and unlawful possession of a controlled substance (Alprazolam) after she allegedly smashed the back window of her boyfriend’s car with a baseball bat and then used to strike him, causing injury to his head and nose Saturday morning.
After an investigation, Proffer was taken into custody and transported to the Madison County Jail. During the booking process, deputies seized several unlawfully possessed Alprazolam tablets. She remains in the custody of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, held on a $40,000 bond.
There was no one new reported in the custody of East Alton Police or Wood River Police during our early morning checks.
