Checking local police reports provided this morning to Z-1570, the Madison County Sheriff’s Department arrested 22 year old Natasha Harris of the 300 block of Hinton Street in Kane for unlawful possession of heroin, retail theft and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.  She was arrested at the Wal-Mart store in Godfrey.  31 year old Raymond Fischer of the 3100 block of Chain of Rocks Road in Granite City for unlawful possession of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.  He was arrested at his home following a call for a domestic disturbance.

Alton Police arrested 46 year old William Butler of the 2200 block of Gillis Street in Alton for criminal damage to property and theft after he was caught allegedly trying to steal copper pipe from the roof of the Shop and Save store in Alton last Friday.   Police in Alton also caught a man in the act of breaking into a vehicle on the Alton Corners shopping center parking lot on Monday.  A witness called police claiming the man was removing a purse from a vehicle and when police arrived the man reportedly tried to hide the evidence under another nearby vehicle.  He was taken into custody pending formal charges. 

Elsewhere, there was no one new being held during the other local jail checks early this morning.
