Checking local police reports provided this morning to Z-1570, Alton Police are again reminding motorists to lock their vehicles and place valuables out of sight after another round of vehicle break in's.  The thieves have targeted fairly busy areas, but also areas where people park their cars and might be away for a period of time.  Twenty-two vehicle burglaries have been reported on the parking lot near Nautilus, in front of Club Fitness, at Alton Square Mall, and near Fast Eddie's Bon Air so far this month.  Items stolen range from cash, to iPod players, CD's, purses and wallets.  The suspects broke windows in some cases, or punched holes just below the lock and handle to gain entry, with the most recent burglaries taking place on Monday.   Police ask if you see anyone suspicious near any vehicles parked near those businesses, or anywhere, call police.

Lodged in the East Alton Jail this morning, 27 year old Jayme Bowen of the 3100 block of West Chain of Rocks Road in Granite City, held on an outstanding warrant.
