Illinois State Police report a worker for IDOT and a pedestrian were struck by a passing motorist yesterday afternoon.  The two victims were standing near an accident scene along Interstate 64 near Highway 111 where a car was being pulled from a ditch when the motorist struck the two victims.  The 39-year-old male from East St. Louis and the 52-year-old male from Belleville, were transported to local hospitals with serious injuries after the incident.   Charges against the driver, a 21-year-old female from Belleville, are pending.

Charges were filed yesterday against 19-year-old Torrie Cunningham of the 5000 block of Alicia Drive in Godfrey on two counts of aggravated battery.  Authorities allege Cunningham kicked and bit two EMT’s during an incident on December 15 of last year. 

28 year old Bernard Echt III of the 2700 block of Benbow in Alton is being held for aggravated battery against an Alton Police officer by allegedly smashing the officers hands in a car door and pinning his arm in a car window.
