Checking local police reports provided this morning to Z-1570, Wood River Police are investigating a suspected carjacking and shoplifting from the Wood River Walmart and a possible vehicle theft.  A female victim told police she drove a male friend, and two women, to the Walmart Supercenter on Wednesday afternoon where she and the man waited outside in the truck while the two other women went inside.  The victim, who was the driver, told police the two females came running out of the store with several food items and they told her to drive away.  The victim told police she hesitated and they then forced her from the truck and drove away.  The trio was eventually located in Granite City and taken into custody.  The Metro East Auto Theft Task Force is investigating along with Wood River Police and charges are pending.

The Madison County Sheriff's Department arrested 44 year old William Green of the 2300 block of Sunset Avenue in Alton for burglary and retail theft after he allegedly attempted to steal bottles of liquor from the Walmart in Godfrey.  He was also connected to a similar theft from the store in January.

There was no one else new reported held during the other local checks from earlier today.
