The Madison County Sheriff's Office is reporting multiple felony charges against a Kirkwood, Missouri man this morning. 33-year old, Marcus D. Thornton of Kirkwood has been charged with a total of six felony offenses, including two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, two counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm and two counts of aggravated unlawful use of a firearm.

The charges stem from an altercation between Thornton and a family member on Wednesday at a residence in the 5500 block of Dial Drive in Granite City. According to a report the argument escalated to a point and shots were fired, prompting the call to police. No injuries were reported from the altercation and Thornton, who is a previously convicted felon, was taken into custody and is being held on a $100,000 bond.

Checking local police reports, there was no one new reported in the custody of East Alton or Wood River police during our early morning checks. Alton police records were unavailable due to processing.
