Checking overnight police activity, Alton Police were holding 41-year-old Lester E. Ingram of the 2,700 block of Hillcrest for domestic battery; 43-year-old  Terry D. Elsperman of the 200 block of Sering for possession of drug equipment; 43-year-old Eric L. Lacey of the 1,100 block of Central for possession of drug equipment and failure to register as a sex offender; 48-year-old Benjamin F. Seward of the 2,000 block of Main Street for intoxicated pedestrian; 28-year-old Joy S. Wallace of the 5,100 block of Clara in Godfrey for DUI; 51-year-old Craig A Shelton of the 100 block of Missouri in South Roxana for driving on a suspended license and a warrant; 38-year-old Tonya M. Matthews of the 2,400 block of E. Broadway on warrants; and 50-year-old Frank A. Anderson of the 5,300 block of Edgewood in Godfrey on a warrant.


The Madison County Sheriff's Department arrested 62-year-old James L. Rogers (pictured) of the 600 block of E. U.S. Highway 40 inTroyfor harassment by telephone.  He allegedly left a message on another man's voice mail threatening to kill the victim and his family.  His bond was set at $150,000.  There was no one new reported held in theEast Altonor Wood River Jails this morning.
