The Wood River Police Department was one of a handful of police stations around the state selected to receive a cell phone analyzer by the States Attorney's Office earlier this month. Wood River Police Chief Otis Steward shared that news with Mayor Fred Ufert and city council members earlier this week.

Steward says that having this equipment at the station will save them a lot of time during investigations.

Steward also says he is extremely thankful to States Attorney Tom Gibbons and his office and that they are willing to share the equipment with any of the surrounding police departments if they need it.
