The Madison County Coroner reports the death of a 3 month old in South Roxana, and indicates a criminal investigation is underway. Callie Pride died on Sunday, apparently the result of an overlay situation, according to information released by the Madison County Coroner's Office.
The coroner's office report says the South Roxana Police Department learned the child's father, Jeremy W. Pride, had been sleeping with the child. When the mother awoke, she is said to have found her daughter under the father and unresponsive. An investigation continues, according to South Roxana Police Lieutenant Bob Coles.
The child was pronounced dead at 7:17am Sunday at Alton Memorial Hospital. There is no indication at this point if drugs or alcohol were involved in the child's death.
