Police departments in the Riverbend will be dealing with fireworks calls, along with their other duties, over the next week.  While they are legal just across the river in St. Charles County, the majority of fireworks are not legal in Illinois and not everyone is a fan.

Alton Police Public Information Officer Emily Hejna tells the Big Z they know people will be shooting off fireworks and ask that they don't, but if they choose to do so, use common sense:

Henja says officers have confiscated fireworks in the past and will do it again, saying the police are just enforcing the law.
