Illinois State Police are boosting efforts to keep roads safe in southwestern Illinois. They’re conducting roadside safety checks throughout the month of November throughout the Metro East. Drivers want to make sure they’re buckled up, driving safely, and that they’re not driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
It’s also wise not to get behind the wheel if your license is suspended or revoked. Police say the extra details will help cut down on alcohol related deaths, which claim hundreds of lives each year on Illinois roads. Police out of District 11 in Collinsville and District 18 in Litchfield are participating in the patrols.
