Checking local police reports provided this morning to Z-1570, the Madison County Sheriff's Department arrested four people in connection with recent spraypaint vandalism in Livingston.  24 year old Bobby Walker of the 300 block of West 6th in Staunton, 17 year old Devin Krueger of the 1100 block of West 6th in Staunton, 22 year old Alexandria Vanhooser of the 300 block of South 2nd in Livingston, and 19 year old Robert Fritz of the 500 block of South Madison in Staunton are all charged with criminal defacement of property over $300 and criminal damage to government supported property.  Damage was reported by ten different residents in the town on vehicles, buildings and fences, and damage was also done to Livingston Village Hall.  

Alton Police are investigating a break-in early Wednesday at a home in the 2100 block of Washington Avenue while one resident of the home was sleeping.  Authorities report a woman was apparently asleep when someone entered the home and took a gun, ammunition, a cell phone and the woman's purse.  The husband called police when he got home from work about 1am Wednesday and noticed someone had forced their way through a window.  Police took a man into custody who was walking in the 2000 block of Main Street shortly after arriving on the scene, but no charges have been filed in the case.

Wood River Police this morning were holding 45 year old Charles Waters of the 400 block of Evans in Wood River for disorderly conduct.

A stray pit bull was put down by the Bethalto Animal Control officer on Tuesday.  The dog was spotted that morning at Bryant Park (formerly Culp Lane Park), but numerous attempts to catch it were unsuccessful.  The dog allegedly became aggressive, trying to attack the officer.  It was deemed to be a danger to the kids and other park patrons, and was put down around 5pm.
