The list of candidates to replace Congressman Jerry Costello is officially one person larger, as Jason Plummer of Edwardsville announced his intentions to run for the seat in the upcoming election on monday.  Plummer joins an already crowded GOP ticket that includes Belleville's ex-mayor Roger Cook, former Costello challenger Teri Newman of Highland, and newcomer Theresa Kormos of O'Fallon.

Plummer, who ran for Illinois Lieutenant Governor in 2010, feels his experience would benefit the people of the 12 Congressional District.

Plummer comments

The Democratic side of the ballot has only one name attached to it so far as Kenneth C. Wiezer of Granite City is the only Democrat to announce intentions of running. State Representative John Bradley of Marion is rumored to be considering joining the race, as is Madison County Chief Judge Ann Callis.
