Another of the three people charged in a St. Clair County courthouse drug scandal has changed their plea. A few weeks ago, 65-year-old Deborah Perkins pleaded guilty to conspiracy. Now son, Douglas Oliver has done the same. It is alleged the two, along with Sean McGilvery, worked with purchase about 50-thousand dollars worth of heroin in Chicago.
Former county judge Michael Cook was arrested outside McGilvery's house earlier this year for possession of heroin. Cook and another judge, Joseph Christ, were together at Cook's hunting cabin in March when Christ died of a drug overdose. Cook resigned shortly after, and entered into in a court-ordered drug rehab facility.
