It's a 72-month prison sentence for an Alton man who admitted to trying to sell meth in late 2014. 46-year-old George W. Holliday, Sr. pleaded guilty in November to conspiracy to distribute meth, attempted distribution of meth, and obstruction of justice.
Authorities say Holliday, and co-defendant James Bailey, Jr., were attempting to sell meth to a woman in Pocahontas on November 22, 2014. Holliday also admitted that before Glen Carbon Police tried to pull him over during a traffic stop, he told Bailey to hide a handgun under the car seat cushion. Bailey pled guilty to Meth and firearms offenses and has been sentenced to 15-months in prison. A third man has pled guilty to state drug charges.
