A Wood River man has pleaded guilty to firing a gun through a door during a standoff with police in January of last year. 21-year-old Daniel Elledge, of the 200 block of East Acton, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to one count of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, a Class X Felony. He will have to serve at least 85% of his 10 year sentence.
Officers were called to the Acton Street residence the evening of January 11, 2015 to investigate a domestic disturbance. A woman at the apartment said her son, Elledge, battered her and then locked himself in the apartment and was armed. Officers attempted to verbally contact the Elledge, who then yelled at the officers and fired a gunshot through the door. No one was injured. Police say after a short time, Elledge exited the apartment and was taken into custody.
